Fluker Fire Leaves One Dead

A manufactured home fire early Tuesday (July 5, 2017) morning, where a man’s body was recovered, remains the focus of State Fire Marshal investigators as they continue to examine the circumstances surrounding the fire on South Hoofkin Road in Fluker.
Three occupants, including an adult female and two children, were able to safely escape the blaze. However, a fourth occupant, Terrance Venible (50) died in the fire. Investigators learned that Venible suffered from a previous injury that greatly diminished his mobility, which may have played a role in his inability to escape from the structure, which was severely damaged as a result of the fire.
While the exact cause of the fire is unknown, investigators established that the fire originated in a bedroom of the home near a window air conditioning unit.
