Rev. Dr. Robert Earl Jefferson, Sr. was born to the late John Henry and Aldonia Jefferson- Lowery, on September 15, 1942 in Bogalusa, LA. He departed this life on May 30, 2017, in Terrytown, LA.
He was a graduate of Central Memorial High School, Class of 1961, in Bogalusa, LA.
He leaves to cherish his memories, a devoted wife, Ruth Lee Jefferson of Slidell, LA; a son, Robert (Renee) Jefferson, Jr. of Snellville, GA; a daughter, Kelly Ann Jefferson of Slidell, LA; grandson, Jesiah Robert Jefferson, Sr. of Massachusetts; great grandson, Jesiah Robert Jefferson, Jr. of Massachusetts; sisters, Vergie (Sidney) Downer and Barbara (Charlie) Simmons of Hartford, CT, Brenda Lowery, Cynthia Penton Bell, Debra Johnson, Joanne (Richard) Wells all of Massachusetts, and Alice Faye ( Marcus) Reynolds of Hampton, Virginia; brothers, Richard (Cynthia) Lowery of Baton Rouge, LA, Rowen Lowery, Raymond (Theresa) Lowery, Lawrence Lowery, John (Nicole) Lowery, Jr. all of Massachusetts; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, sisters-in-law, and brothers-in-law.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Katie Marsha; and brothers, Willie Jefferson, and Leroy Lowery.
The visitation will be 9:00AM -11:00PM Friday, June 9, 2017 at First Church of God in Christ, 612 E. 5th St, Bogalusa, LA 70427.
Funeral services will follow at 11:00AM. Bishop Howard Quillen, Sr. presiding. The interment will be in Bogalusa Cemetery. Crain and Sons Funeral Home-Bogalusa, LA in charge of arrangements.
