Dorothy Jane Broadway O'Bryant
August 25, 1941 - May 31, 2017


DOROTHY JANE BROADWAY O’BRYANT, AGE 75 and a resident of Franklinton died at 2:57 pm Wednesday May 31, 2017 at Riverside Medical Center. She was a seamstress at Rutter Rex for over 40 years and then worked at Stewart’s Fish House for many years. Dorothy loved to cook for her family and friends and enjoyed fishing. She was best described as a “Mother Hen” that always looked out for the needs of others.
Survived by: Husband of nearly 60 years: Willie J. O’Bryant of Franklinton; Sister: Joann Corkern Mixon of Amite; Brother and Sister in law: J.D. and Katherine Broadway of Franklinton; 2 Sisters in law and a Brother in law: Janice O’Bryant Jones and Elvin Jones, Shirley Spears O’Bryant all of Franklinton; Special Niece: Misti Jones of Franklinton; Also numerous other nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents Chance Denman Broadway and Sarah Myrtis Seals Broadway, a sister Martha C. “Mottsie” Broadway, brother in law Robert Mixon, father in law and mother in law Jessie J. O’Bryant and Mary Smith O’Bryant, sister in law Nora Mae Schilling and brothers in law Dewitt “D.J.” O’Bryant and Harold O’Bryant.
Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home Saturday June 3rd from 5 pm until 8 pm. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 8 pm Saturday with Eld. Burdette Thomas, Rev. Walter Mixon and Eld. Lavon Taylor officiating.
