The search for nine year-old Gabrielle McCoy of Roseland resumed at 5:30 this (June 26, 2017) morning, according to Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff Daniel Edwards. Gabrielle disappeared while swimming Sunday on the Tangipahoa River near Serenity Sands Beach on Highway 40 in Independence.
Members of the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office (TPSO), Independence Fire, Amite Fire, Loranger Fire, St. John Parish Sheriff’s Office, Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office, Louisiana Search and Rescue (LASAR), Wildlife and Fisheries, and the Hammond and Ponchatoula Fire Departments searched for almost nine-hours yesterday.
