Tangi Sheriff Announces Personnel Changes

Tangipahoa Sheriff Daniel Edwards announced today that Captain Stuart Murphy will be transferring from the Parish Jail where he served as Jail Administrator to TPSO headquarters and taking over supervision of the new criminal evidence facility as well as commanding the Water Patrol Division. Murphy has served in numerous capacities since joining TPSO in 1996 and will be replacing Captain Robert Bel, who is retiring in the coming months.
The Sheriff is also pleased to announce that Hellary Greene, Jr. will be joining the Sheriff’s Office sometime later this year as the new Jail Administrator. Mr. Greene began his corrections career working for the Department of Corrections at Elayn Hunt Correctional Center in 1984, and continued with DOC until his retirement in 2008. Sheriff Edwards thanked Mr. Greene for his willingness to leave a well-earned and comfortable retirement to return to jail administration. “I’ve looked for the right person for the last 2 years,” Sheriff Edwards commented, “and in Hellary Greene, I’ve found him.”
