Pamela Smith
August 04, 1951 - May 02, 2017


Ms. Pamela Smith was born August 4, 1951 to the late Mr. Joe and Mrs. Mary Smith of Bogalusa, LA. She departed this life on Tuesday, May 2, 2017 in the Lakeview Regional Medical Center, Covington, LA.
Pamela was a 1969 graduate of Bogalusa High School. After graduating she attended the University of LA at Lafayette and after relocating to New Orleans, LA she attended Spencer Business College and after graduating she begin her long and blessed career with Bellsouth/AT&T working in New Orleans, LA, Atlanta, GA and Bogalusa, LA where she worked for 30 years as a telephone operator.
Pamela was an active member of the Thirkield United Methodist Church where she was a member of the United Methodist Women, choir member (President and Director) as we all know she loved singing in the choir, announcement clerk, etc.
She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Mary and Joe Smith; her grandparents, Ella and Mitchell Carter; her sister, Mary Ella Smith – Fields and her cousin who was like a brother, Alvin C. Carter.
She will be fondly remembered and loved by her four brothers, Joseph Smith, New Orleans, LA, Richard (Gwyn) Smith, Glynn Smith of Bogalusa, LA and Ricky Hill, Jackson, MS; four sisters, Penny S. Mack, Cynthia S. Jackson, Debra A. Smith and Joelnette Collins of Bogalusa, LA; one aunt, Mattie Carter Wallace, Bogalusa, LA; three God-children, Fredrica Fox-Paulk, The Colony, TX, Okeisha Jackson, Lake Charles, LA, and Kelmora Magee of Bogalusa, LA and a host of nieces, nephews, and many more friends especially her Thirkield family and Class of 1969 (BHS/CMHS).
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 11, 2017 at the chapel of Crain and Sons Funeral Home – Bogalusa, LA from 2:00PM – 5:00PM followed by a family hour from 5:00PM – 6:00PM.
Funeral service will be on Friday, May 12, 2017 at Harry’s Chapel United Methodist Church – Bogalusa, LA at 11:00AM with Rev. Nolan Robinson – Pastor Officiating. Interment – Bogalusa Cemetery. Crain and Sons Funeral Home of Bogalusa in charge of arrangements.
