Franklinton PD Finds 38.6 Grams of Marijuana & More

While investigating a domestic violence complaint Sunday, May 28, 2017, Corporal Clay Arceneaux and Patrolman William Seals encountered a vehicle operated by 27 year old Dustin O. Williams which was obstructing a public roadway. 
Upon approaching the driver and vehicle, officers observed a handgun on the floorboard near Williams’s feet. Williams was asked to exit the vehicle and officers smelled the strong odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle. A subsequent search revealed 38.6 grams of packaged marijuana, additional packaging materials, digital scales along with the loaded semi-automatic handgun.
As a result, Dustin O. Williams was placed under arrest and charged with Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substance, Possession of a Firearm while in Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, Obstruction of a Public Passage and Open Container.
