The Franklinton Board of Aldermen met Tuesday, May 9, 2017 and the following was addressed:
- Approved the Planning and Zoning Commission's recommendation to re-subdivide 3.636 acres nearby and across the road from Riverside Medical Center, a request made by Dr. David R. Powers.
- Discussed and tabled an application for “Retail Dealers Not Having a Fixed Place of Business/Rolling Vendor”, an application made by Tracy Taylor of Southern Snow.
- Approved four Alcohol Permit renewals.
- Accepted the Police Department's request to accept the termination of Dominque Magee and to hire John O'Hern.
- Heard financial reports from Merty Fitzsimmons.
- Announced a Public Hearing on Tuesday May 23, 2017 to adopt the 2017 millage rates.
- Heard an update from Douglas Williams regarding his purchase of property in the Industrial Park.
