Bogalusa Man Arrested for Drug Possession

(This report details arrests by WPSO. See our May 26, 2017 story “Burglary Solved in Bogalusa/Guns, Cash & More Seized” for details of actions taken by BPD)
On May 25, 2017, Washington Parish Drug Task Force Detectives were asked to assist the Bogalusa Police Department with a search warrant for stolen property. Officers with the two agencies arrived at a residence on N. Royal Street at approximately 3:00 pm to search the residence, outlying buildings and any vehicles at the location. BPD officers secured the front yard and detained five persons that were standing around the residence. Meanwhile, Drug Task Force officers entered the residence and secured it for the search.
Drug Task Force officers interviewed the five individuals that had been detained. Fernando Brister (27), one of the five, had keys to a vehicle parked outside the residence. A search warrant was obtained to search the vehicle and the search uncovered $30 in one dollar bills, a quantity of suspected synthetic marijuana, a plastic bag containing heroin, crack cocaine, Tramadol pills, Oxycodone pills, Hydrocodone pills, Xanax pills and Roxycontin pills. Drug Task Force detectives then conducted a thorough search of Brister’s person and discovered $3,161 in varying denominations of $100, $20, $10 and $1 dollar bills.
Brister was booked on thirteen counts of possession with intent to distribute illegal drugs.
