Obituary

Oneida Stringer Thomas
October 1, 1920 - April 16, 2017 



Oneida Stringer Thomas, age 96 died Sunday, April 16, 2017 in her home. She was a resident of Bogalusa and a member of Pine Grove Landmark Missionary Baptist Church. She worked in the Garment Factory, Dexter School cafeteria, and Travis’ Grocery and Market.
She is survived by two sons, Travis (Denise) Thomas of Bogalusa and Jerry (Nancy) Thomas of Sandy Hook, MS; two daughters, Janell (Charles) Lumpkin of McNeil, MS and Brenda McNutt, Burkeville, TX; three sisters, Kathren Crain of Denham Springs, LA, Peggy Populis of Walker, LA, and Betty Rothermel of Aztec, NM; 13 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, and 27 great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ottis Stringer and Lille Lowery Stringer; her husband, Virgil Thomas; her son, V.L. Thomas; two grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 18, 2017 from 6:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home and will continue Wednesday morning, April 19, 2017 at 9:00 A.M. until the time of service at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel. Rev Dewayne Ball and Rev Clyde Cooper will officiate. Interment will follow at Ponemah Cemetery.
