Jessie M. Miller
February 14, 1931 - April 07, 2017
Jessie M. Miller was born February 14, 1931 from the union of Purvis and Lona Anthony in Franklinton, Louisiana. She attended the Washington Parish School System in Franklinton where she was a lifelong resident.
On March 23, 1948, she married Samuel Louis Miller and from that union eight children were born.
She was a warm, generous, kind and compassionate person. Over the years, she shared her home with many guests who soon viewed her as their best friend or even their “mother.” Everyone was always welcomed and genuinely loved in her home. Jessie enjoyed working in her yard, giving special attention to her plants and flowers. She had a green thumb and anything she touched flourished.
Jessie was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on June 22, 1986. She was well known and loved by those in her community. She especially loved her door to door ministry where she expressed her faith based on the promises from her God, Jehovah, and his son Jesus Christ. Also in her congregation, she participated with her regular comment of “To add to the others comments.”
Sadly on Friday, April 7, 2017, Jessie fell asleep in death at her home surrounded by her children, grandchildren and brother. She was affectionately none as Mo-Mo Jessie’, “Mo-Mo”, ‘Grandma Jessie’, ‘Granny’, ‘Mee-Mama’, Sister Miller, or Sister Jessie. She was the glue that kept the family happy, stable, and content.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel L. Miller and her son, Louis Sylvester “Tyrone” Miller.
