FPD Makes Attempted Murder Arrest

On March 26, 2017, officers with the Franklinton Police Department were alerted to a shooting at the intersection of Howard and Solomon Streets. One individual had self-reported to Riverside Medical Center, suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg. Investigators began interviewing witnesses and  identified Jaris "Buck" Warren as a potential suspect in the shooting. Warren was also the subject who was treated for the aforementioned gunshot wound. Investigators determined that Warren drove to the residence of his ex-girlfriend where he got into a verbal altercation with her and a male subject. Warren returned to his vehicle, retrieved a handgun and fired a single shot. An individual at the residence produced his own handgun, returned fire at Warren, striking him in the leg. Warren then drove himself to the hospital.
Jaris "Buck" Warren was arrested March 31, 2017 on a warrant charging him with one count of Attempted 2nd Degree Murder.

Warren was employed by the Town of Franklinton in the maintenance department at the time of the shooting.
Major Justin Brown commended the work of the patrol division as well as that of lead investigator Brian Davidson, Detective William Brumfield, Captain Randall Penton and Officer Thomas Mitchell. Major Brown also commended ATF Special Agent Kathy Barton Scanlan and K-9 "Ting" for their assistance.
