Leona Burris
March 13, 1938 - February 26, 2017


Leona Anita Daniels Burris was born on March 13, 1938 in Clifton, Louisiana to the late Samul and Ethel Daniels. She was the third child of four children, Rosa Buckley, Robert and Delton Daniel who all preceded her in death.
At an early age, Leona Daniels Burris joined Bethel Holy Church under the leadership of the late Rev. Benny Lee. She was an active member until her death.
In December 1958, she was married in holy matrimony to Gary Burris and to this union one child was born, Greg Burris.
Leona was a stay at home mom and a devoted wife for many years. She dedicated her life to shopping, cleaning and listening to gospel music.
Leona leaves to cherish her memories her loving husband, Gary Burris; one son, Grey (Helen) Burris; three grandchildren, three great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. One very special aunt, Georgia McCant.
A Funeral Service is scheduled for Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at 11 am at Crain and Sons Funeral Home in Franklinton, Louisiana.
