Bennie Ruth Spivy
January 28, 1935 - February 23, 2017

Bennie Ruth Spivey was born on January 28, 1935 to George Patrick Spivey Sr. and Essie “Bell” Jones Spivey. She graduated from Central Memorial High School in Bogalusa, Louisiana. She furthered her education at Southern University in Baton Rouge Louisiana. and later became a life member of the National Southern University Alumni Federation. After working in the public sector Bennie Ruth became self-employed as a Tax Preparer and humbly served the Bogalusa community for over 35 years.
Bennie Ruth is preceded in death by her parents, brothers George and Charles, and dear cousin Myrtle Johnson. She leaves to cherish her memories her sons Wendell D. May of Iowa, La. and George P. Spivey III (Victoria) of Lithonia, Ga. and daughter Darlene Spivey –Fisher (Johnny) of Starkville, Ms. She was the proud grandmother to four (4) grandchildren Ileen G. May of Houston, Texas; George P. Spivey IV of Moreno Valley, Ca; Ayanna C. Spivey of Moreno Valley, Ca. and Wendell D. May II of Houston, Tx. With love and affection she was the great grandmother to five (5) great grandchildren, a beloved aunt to two (2) nephews; and advisor, confidante and life coach to a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation is scheduled for Saturday, March 4, 2017 from 9 am to 10 am at Crain and Sons Funeral Home in Bogalusa. A Funeral service will follow at 10 am.
