Mary Busby Parsley
September 14, 1938 - March 17, 2017



MARY NELL BUSBY PARSLEY, AGE 78 and a resident of Franklinton died at 12:40 am Friday morning March 17, 2017 at her daughter’s home. She was the owner operator of Mary’s Sugar and Spice cake shop for over 30 years and a member of The Order of the Eastern Star. Mary was also a member of the Franklinton Garden Club where she served as treasurer for 21 years. She loved baking, sewing, quilting, painting, floral arranging and gardening. Mary was a woman of vast talents and interests. She was member of Canaan Baptist Church.
Survived by: Husband of 60 years: Bennie Ray Parsley of Franklinton; Daughter and Son in law: Jonteel and Michael Thomas of Franklinton; 2 Sons and Daughters in law: Alan Ray and Koleta Parsley of Humble, TX, David Everett and Leah Parsley of Chopin, LA; Grandchildren and Spouses: John Michael and Carly Thomas, Benjamin and Dana Thomas, Amanda and Zach Magee, Bethany and Wade Duplessis, Cody and Trude Parsley, David and Katie Mulkey, Danna Parsley, Joshua Parsley; 12 Great-grandchildren; Sister: Doris Cox; 2 Brothers and Sisters in law: Pete and Edith Busby, Jimmy and Margie Busby; Special Nephew: John A. Taylor; Special Niece: Sylvia Fussell; Also numerous other nieces, nephews and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents James T. Busby and Rosa Rogers Busby, sister Jonteel Taylor, brother Floyd Busby and great-niece Shannon Fussell Gerald.
Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home Saturday March 18th from 5 pm until 9 pm and after 12 pm on Sunday. A funeral service will be held at 2 pm Sunday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Stan Adams officiating. Burial will follow in the Canaan Baptist Church Cemetery.
