Obituary

Wilbur Ray "Billy" Nobles
March 13, 1923 - March 4, 2017 



Wilbur “Billy” Ray Nobles, our sweet husband, dad, pawpaw and friend joined our Heavenly Father on Saturday March 4th at 2:45p.m. At 93 years of age.
He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Myrtle Virginia Crowe Nobles, and his only daughter, Barbara Nobles Chauvin. His greatest joys were his 3 grandchildren, Jerome Chauvin, Kim Spillers, Lesa Courville, and their spouses. He also had 11 great-grandchildren; Erin, Kaitlyn, Victoria, Keith, Jessica, Stephanie, Vanessa, Bradley, Priscilla, Hayleigh, and Bella. Pallbearers will be Jerome Chauvin, Mike Spillers, Matt Courville, Keith Wall, Michael Hall, and John Douglas. Honorary Pallbearer will be Bradley Pickering.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Marie Nolan Roark, and his grandparents, George and Hattie Nolan.
He retired from Crown Zellabach Papermill after 37 faithful years. As a retired Master Sergeant in the United States Airforce, he also served in WWII. He was an active member of the Masonic Lodge in Bogalusa since he was 18 years old. During his retired years, he served as the Masonic Chaplain and Secretary. He was also an original member of Westside Baptist Church of Bogalusa.
Visitation will be held at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home on Monday March 6th from 1:00pm until service time of 3:00pm. The Rev. David Womack will officiate. Interment will follow at Ponemah Cemetery with Military Graveside Service by the Magic City American Legion Post # 24.
