Ebalee Haley Lewko
October 31, 1924 - March 14, 2017


EBALEE HALEY LEWKO, AGE 92 and a resident of Loranger died at 2:45 pm Monday March 13, 2017 at St. Tammany Parish Hospital. She was a native of Franklinton and a graduate of Franklinton High School. She then married and, alongside her husband, lived in New York City, Diamondhead, MS, Franklinton and in St. Tammany Parish for many years. Ebalee was a reader at the St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Diamondhead, she also worked in the cafeteria of Franklinton High School before later volunteering at Lakeview Hospital in Covington. She was a seamstress that also enjoyed crafting, crocheting and needle point. Ebalee loved her flowers and working in her flower garden. She was proud to be part of a military family as her husband served during World War II, her son in the Vietnam War and her grandson as a U.S. Marine in the Persian Gulf.
Survived by: 2 Sons and Daughters in law: Wendell and Sharon Lewko of Slidell, Craig and Tammy Lewko of Loranger; 7 Grandchildren and Spouses: Eric and Lori Lewko, Stephanie and Chuck Broussard, Jill and Chris Chaik, Kelly and Steven Jenkins, Joshua and Shannon Lewko, Bethany and Shane D’Ambra, Kayla Lewko; 13 Great-grandchildren and an expected great-grandchild; 3 Sisters and a Brother in law: Mary Penton, Ruby Maynard, Freddie and John Knight; Brother and Sister in law: Preston and Cathy Haley; Sister in law: Gladys Haley; Also numerous nieces and nephews
She was preceded in death by her husband John Lewko, her parents Fleet Leon Haley and Dixie Irene Thomas Haley, sisters Lettie, Rosie, Gladys and Lavonia and brothers Jewel, Charles, and Percy.
Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home Saturday March 18th from 9 am until 11 am. A funeral service will be held at 11 am Saturday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Rick Elder officiating. Burial will follow in the Fleet Haley Family Cemetery.
