Bogalusa Man Arrested for Heroin Possession

Harvie H. Miller (58), a resident of Avenue E in Bogalusa, was arrested by a Washington
Parish Sheriff’s Office patrol deputy on February 1 and booked into the Washington Parish Jail on one count of possession of heroin and one count of possession of methamphetamine. He was released the same day after posting a $10,000 bond.
Following a traffic stop on Superior Avenue, the deputy observed a plastic bag that fell out of Miller's wallet.  Miller admitted the bag contained heroin and additional heroin plus methamphetamine was discovered in the vehicle.
“Heroin and methamphetamine use and abuse is common among all age groups,” stated Sheriff Randy Seal. “In this case we have a fifty-eight year old man driving our streets while possessing these illegal drugs. I congratulate our patrol deputy for being alert and getting these drugs out of our community.”
