Troopers Seize Over $411,000 Worth of Cocaine

Early Wednesday (January 18) morning, Louisiana State Police troopers conducted a traffic stop on Interstate 12, which resulted in the seizure of approximately 13.7 kilos of cocaine. Troopers booked the driver, Patrick David Spearman (48) of Georgia into the St. Tammany Parish Jail for possession of over 400 grams of cocaine.
Troopers initially observed Spearman commit a traffic violation on Interstate12 eastbound near the Tangipahoa/St. Tammany Parish line. During the course of the traffic stop, Troopers requested consent to search Spearman’s Ford Edge. Spearman refused a consensual search. Troopers deployed K9 “Rex”. Rex gave a positive response to the vehicle and a subsequent search yielded approximately 13.7 kilos of cocaine with an estimated street value of $411,000.00.
