Richard Reed Gets 2 Years in Prison

Source:  Robert Rhoden, NOLA.com | The Times-Picayune
Richard Reed, brother of former North Shore District Attorney Walter Reed, was sentenced to two years in state prison Tuesday (Jan. 17) for obscenity and impeding a witness in a 2014 groping incident at The Chimes restaurant in Covington. State District Judge Peter Garcia sentenced Richard Reed, 68, saying, "Much about this case is particularly disturbing."
Reed must pay restitution to the victim, register as a sex offender and remain on probation for five years after completing his prison sentence.
Police said Reed put the woman in his car and drove away, leading to a kidnapping charge. Covington police officers eventually stopped Reed, who flashed a DA's office badge, trying to give the impression that he had credentials with the office, authorities said.
