Joseph "Chris" Bruno (60) of Bush has died as a result of a December 29 crash on La. 21 in Sun. Authorities say the crash occurred when Bruno's motorcycle hit a car exiting a private driveway. Bruno's motorcycle hit the car broadside and Bruno was thrown from the bike. Bruno was flown by helicopter to Lakeview Regional, where he died. The driver of the car, Emelda Mingo, was taken to Our Lady of the Angels for treatment for minor injuries
Bruno had served as the pharmacy supervisor at Our Lady of the Angels Hospital in Bogalusa since 2006 and had been a registered pharmacist for 39 years. He was on his way home from work when the crash occurred.
Mingo was cited with failure to yield from a private drive and a blood sample taken. Any additional charges depend on the results of the blood test, the outcome of the investigation and consultation with the district attorney's office.
