New Years Day Shooting Leads to Arrest in Covington

Murray Isiah Brown (20) of Covington was arrested January 3, 2016 by the Covington Police on the charge of Attempted Second Degree Murder.  

In the early morning hours of New Years Day, police responded to an altercation between two females possibly involving firearms.  The two females declined to pursue charges and the large crowd was dispersed. However, an hour later, police received reports of shots fired in the same area. Responding officers were able to locate multiple shell casings and began interviewing witnesses. Shortly thereafter, three subjects came to the Covington Police Department with a bullet hole in the windshield of their car.

An investigation revealed that Brown fired multiple shots at the victim, striking the windshield of his vehicle and narrowly missing the occupants.
