In a letter dated December 7, 2016, Livingston Parish Sheriff Jason Ard expressed his appreciation for the assistance provided by the Washington Parish Sheriff's Office following August floods.
Sheriff Ard said (in part), "That support when I needed it most was a God-send. In the field, it wasn't us or them - we were (and are) all on one team. I'd say a winning team! Folks might have seen different colored uniforms and different shaped badges, but I believe they 'felt' and they 'saw' us working as one. For many, that spelled hope. To me, it also meant strength".
