Illegal Alien Arrested for Homicide Warrant After Traffic Stop

A man from El Salvador, who openly admitted to being in the United States illegally for over 10 years, was detained for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (I.C.E.) after a St. Tammany Parish deputy discovered he had an outstanding international warrant for homicide with the El Salvador authorities.
On Friday, December 9, 2016, a St. Tammany Parish sheriff’s deputy conducted a traffic stop in Covington on 36-year-old Juan Sanchez-Roldan. Upon checking Sanchez-Roldan through N.C.I.C (National Crime Identification Center), the homicide warrant from El Salvador was discovered. Sanchez-Roldan was detained and later picked up by federal authorities.
The details of the homicide in El Salvador are unknown. Sanchez-Roldan had an address from the Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and was in St. Tammany Parish for construction type work.
