The Pearl River County Sheriff's Office has arrested Richard L. Carver (18) in the murder of Mark Johnson (39) of Slidell.
Neighbors reportedly heard Carver and Johnson arguing inside a home and the altercation, involving the use of two firearms, continued outside the home. The investigation located one firearm and determined that the victim was shot while inside a vehicle. More shots were fired after he exited from the passenger side door. Johnson's girlfriend was found uninjured in the back seat of the vehicle with the doors locked. Carver fled the scene before deputies arrived.
Carver was located and arrested during a traffic stop in Picayune.
