Slidell Man Claims God Told Him to Steal GPS from Ambulance

Jason Milto (43) from Slidell told deputies he was “Following God’s message” when he took
a GPS out of an ambulance in Lacombe this past weekend. Deputies did not buy his story and he was booked on the charge of Simple Burglary.
When they responded to a nursing home report of a man trespassing at the facility, deputies located Milto and he admitted to trespassing and said he was doing so because he was “Following God’s message.” He then began emptying his pockets and one of the items in his front pocket was a GPS with a printed label reading “Medic 31”.  Milton admitted to taking the GPS out of a Fire District 3 ambulance, which was parked at a local automotive repair shop.
When asked why he took the GPS, Milto told the deputy that God led him to do it, telling the deputes “I was led to pull on the ambulance’s door handle and get in to it.”
