Barbara Lee Dickerson Smith

May 7, 1947 - February 13, 2021

Barbara Lee Dickerson Smith, age 73 and a resident of Bush died early Saturday morning February 13, 2021 at her home after a courageous battle with cancer. She was a native of Washington Parish, former longtime resident of the Bonner Creek Community and a member of Bonner Creek Baptist Church where she played the piano for nearly 20 years. Barbara was retired from Parish National Bank after a long career in the banking industry. She loved to work in her yard and tend to her flower and vegetable gardens. Barbara was also an artist that painted many landscapes and outdoor scenes. She liked to cook, make jellies and pickles and she always enjoyed crawfish boils with her beloved family.

Survived by: Husband of 53 years: Tommy D. Smith of Bush; Daughter and Son in law: Nicole and Stephen Landry of Mandeville; Son and Daughter in law: Jason and June Smith of Franklinton; Grandchildren: Samantha Lew and Jeremy Haggard, Tori Smith, Mitchell Dickerson, Eli Dickerson; 3 Great-grandsons: Phoenix, Nash and Colt; Sisters: Cathryn Williams of Denham Springs, Sherry Hartfield of Franklinton; Brother and Sister in law: Keith and Willene Dickerson of Franklinton; Step-mother: Rosalie Dickerson of Franklinton; Brothers in law and Sisters in law: Charles and Judy Smith, Linda Diane Maples, Zandra and James Zenner; Also numerous nieces, nephews and other family members

She was preceded in death by an infant son, her parents Bruce B. Dickerson and Clarice Owens Dickerson, brothers in law Bobby Williams and Charles Maples.

Visitation will be at Bonner Creek Baptist Church Friday February 19th from 9:00 am until 11:00 am. A funeral service will be held in the church at 11:00 am Friday with Rev. Walter Mixon officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
