Obituary

Ronald White

January 23, 1951 - January 17, 2021

Ronald White was born on January 23, 1951 to the late Mr. Samuel White Jr. and Mrs. Dorothy Crain White. He loved his mother dearly and was her caretaker for many years before she passed.  During his youth, Ronald united with Christ Temple Church of Christ (Holiness) USA in New Orleans, LA, where he was baptized under the pastorate of Elder O.C. Miller. As an adult he joined New Life Church of Christ (Holiness) U.S.A. in New Orleans, LA under the pastorate of Elder Alvin Partman, Sr.  He loved his church and church family.  On Sunday, January 17, 2021, before he went home to be with the Lord, he was seen on his favorite row waving his arms singing praises to God.  On his last post on Facebook before he transitioned, he said, “Wow, did I enjoy church, 1st time back since the pandemic”, as he proudly posed for a photograph with his current pastor, Elder Archie C. Brown.  At New Life Church he was on the Trustee Board and served as one of the church custodians for many years.

As a young man, Ronald attended school in the New Orleans Public School System.  He was a proud 1969 graduate of George Washington Carver High School in New Orleans, Louisiana. Following completion of high school, Ronald attended the University of New Orleans, LA, and he later joined the Army where he served for approximately 2 years. Ronald’s most recent place of employment was CHS (Cenex Harvest States-Myrtle Grove) in Belle Chasse, Louisiana, where he served as a grain operator.

Ronald had a kind, gentle, humble spirit; known for his quiet demeanor he was a man of few words, he had a direct approach, and loved his family tremendously. He often fondly reminisced about times spent with his mother, brothers, sister, nieces and nephews.

Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel & Dorothy White; brother, Steven White, Sr., nephew Steven White, Jr.; and sister, Kim White Young. He leaves to cherish his memories, one brother, Tyrone White, Sr. (Diane), his beloved nieces Jennifer and Courtney Young, Lashawn White, Dawn White, Theresa White, Lyndsey White and Jailyn Lockett; nephews, Ayden Young, Tyrone White, Jr., and Lloyd Lockett, III, and a host of cousins and friends.

Graveside Service will be on Monday, February 1, 2021 for 11:00AM at Mt. Olivet Cemetery with Eld. Archie Brown~ Pastor Officiating.

Crain and Sons Funeral Home – Franklinton are in charge of arrangements.
