Vivian Sue Bond Allen

October 22, 1944 - November 29, 2020

Vivian Sue Bond Allen, age 76 and a resident of Thomas died Sunday afternoon November 29, 2020 at Forest Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center after a lengthy illness. She was a 1962 graduate of Franklinton High School and a member of Thomas First Baptist Church. She always enjoyed working during vacation bible school and participating in the ladies’ bible study in prior years. Vivian also enjoyed doing home improvement projects of different types, like updating wallpaper and even laying new tile to her floors. Her favorite and most cherished pastime was painting. She was an accomplished artist that painted religious symbols, landscapes, wildlife and other scenes dear to her. Vivian was always proud that she studied artistry and was able to demonstrate different mediums of art such as charcoal, oil paintings and acrylics, which she entered into the Fine Arts Building of the Washington Parish Fair each year. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother that even passed along her love of art to some of her grandchildren.

Survived by: Husband of 56 years: Alfred John Allen of Thomas; Daughter and Son in law: Angela Allen Thomas and Tim Thomas of Thomas; Son and Daughter in law: Alfred Justin Allen and Andrea Allen of Mandeville; Grandchildren and a Spouse: Lana Thomas Zuelke and Barrett Zuelke of Livingston, LA, Laura Thomas of Franklinton, Shelby Allen, Grady Allen, Clayton Allen all of Mandeville; Sisters and a Brother in law: Her Twin Virginia Bond Dickerson of Covington, Diana Bond Ladner and David Ladner of Franklinton; Brother in law and Sisters in law: Ken and Brenda Allen of Franklinton, Mary Jane Allen of Folsom; Also numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.

She was preceded in death by her father Ray Bond, mother Addie Holmes Bond Dedon, father in law and mother in law Ellie Allen and Letha Seal Allen, brothers in law Ronald Dickerson and Lonnie Allen.

Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home Thursday December 3rd from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 12:00 pm Thursday with Rev. Tom Descant officiating. Burial will follow in the Thomas Cemetery.
