Sharon Leah Jones Mixon

April 25, 1948 - November 12, 2020

Sharon Leah Jones Mixon, age 72 and a resident of Franklinton, died Thursday evening November 12, 2020 at her home. She was retired from the Tangipahoa Parish School Board office, where she worked in the Child Nutrition Program. Sharon also later worked in the banking industry in Amite and at Parish National Bank in Franklinton. She was always a very friendly person that enjoyed shopping. Sharon loved picking blueberries and cooking for her family and friends. She was a caretaker at heart and cared for her husband for many years. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and family.

Survived by: Daughter and Son in law: Laurie and Michael Williams of Franklinton; Son: Clay Sumrall and Cynthia Crain of Franklinton; 2 Step-children: Lacey Mixon McIntyre and Rick Day, Kyle Mixon; Grandchildren and a Spouse: Miranda and Jake Blackwell, Cole Williams and Harlie Knight, Brannix McIntyre, Brianna Kate Day; Great-grandchildren: River Blackwell, Beau Blackwell, Lana Blackwell

She was preceded in death by her husband David Reynold Mixon, parents Cecil Otis Jones and Wilda Jenkins Jones and an infant sister Cecile Jones.

A graveside funeral service will be held in the Sharon Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery on Hwy. 16 near Amite at 1:00 pm Tuesday November 17th with Rev. Chris Wheeler officiating.
