Zion Hutcherson (21) of Baton Rouge is dead following a shooting Saturday, August 8, 2020 on Vernon Town Road in Roseland, Louisiana at what was described as a trail ride event. The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office reported in a update today (August 19, 2020) that Hutcherson was killed by a single stray gunshot and that Hutcherson was not believed to be the intended target.
TPSO's initial report was that multiple gunmen opened fire in the large crowd and that one was fatally shot with several others wounded.
Detectives developed several suspects. Three are in custody and two other suspects are wanted in connection with the incident. The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 800.554.5245.
- Brandon Perry (30) of Roseland was charged with Second Degree Murder, 2 counts Attempted Second Degree Murder, Possession with Intent to Distribute Schedule 5, 3 counts Possession with intent to Distribute Schedule II, 2 counts Possession of Weapons while in possession of CDS, Possession with intent to Distribute Schedule II, and Possession of a Stolen Firearm
- Craig Brown (29) of Amite was charged with, Possession with intent to distribute Schedule V, Possession with intent to distribute Schedule IV, Negligent Homicide, and 2 counts Negligent Injuring
- Tommie Diamond (23) of Kentwood was charged with Second Degree Murder and 2 counts Attempted Second Degree Murder. Diamond was taken into custody in Ascension Parish
Wanted are Jaylohn Mitchell (19) of Ponchatoula and Raven Warford (27) of Natalbany.
