Franklinton Man Arrested on Attempted First Degree Murder Warrant

On Monday, August 3, 2020, shortly before 8:00 a.m., a Louisiana State Trooper conducted a traffic stop
involving a 2012 Ford F250 on Interstate 10, near Egan, for a traffic violation. During the traffic stop, it was discovered that the driver had an active warrant for attempted first degree murder.

Troopers took the driver, 33-year-old Zarius Brown of Franklinton, into custody. As the investigation progressed, it was discovered that Brown was in possession of a stolen pistol.

As a result of the investigation, Brown was booked into Acadia Parish Jail on the following charges:
Obscuring Outward/Inward View Through Windshield Or Windows Prohibited, Improper Lane Usage,  Possession Of Firearm By A Person Convicted Of Certain Felonies, Illegal Possession Of Stolen Firearm, 
Resisting, Interference And/Or Obstruction Of An Officer, and Felony Warrant for: Attempted 1st Degree Murder, Possession of Stolen Things, and Criminal Damage to Property
