STPSO: Body Found Believed to be of Missing Boater

The STPSO Marine Division located and recovered a body believed to be that of William Segrave
while searching Saturday (July 18) morning in Lake Pontchartrain.

Members of the Marine Division searched, with the assistance of Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries, the U.S. Coast Guard and family members, until dark Friday (July 17) and resumed the search Saturday morning. The body was recovered at approximately noon Saturday near the I-10 Twin Spans. It was turned over to the St. Tammany Parish Coroner’s Office, who will do a positive identification and provide a cause and manner of death.

STPSO Searching for Missing Boater

The St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office Marine Unit, assisted by Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries,
the U.S. Coast Guard and family members, are looking for missing boater William Segrave (age 65). Segrave left his residence on Carr Drive in his boat Thursday (July 16, 2020) afternoon.
Family members became concerned Friday (July 17, 2020) morning when they located his boat, still in gear but unoccupied, near the base of the Highway 11 train bridge, and they contacted the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Anyone who has seen or have spoken to William Segrave, is asked to call the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office at (985) 898-2338.
