Obituary

Ginger Wood
August 21, 1952 - February 5, 2020



Helen Virginia "Ginger" Wood, age 67 and a resident of Franklinton, died Wednesday afternoon February 5, 2020 at St. Tammany Parish Hospital. She was the former manager of Family Dollar then worked for many years at Fred’s and most recently at The Salvage Store all in Franklinton. Ginger loved to cook for her family and do needle-point crafts. She enjoyed watching her favorite classic TV shows and westerns and loved listening to Alan Jackson’s music. Ginger was a longtime member of Grace Missionary Baptist Church that loved the Lord and her church family. She had a special place in her heart for her pet cat “Gator”. Ginger will be forever missed by her beloved family and friends.

Survived by: 5 Siblings and their Spouses: Melaney and Alan Rauch, Charles and Diane Wood, Thomas “Freddie” and Debbie Wood, Susan Wood, James Yates Wood, Jr.; Nieces and Nephews and their Spouses: Christina Miller Smith and Greg Smith, David C. Miller, Justin and Katie Miller, Melissa Wood Kennedy, Cindy and Donald Wills, Christopher Miller, Sarah Wood Brock and Bryan Brock, Wendy Wood Bickham and Cole Bickham; Also numerous great-nieces, great-nephews and other family members.

Ginger was laid to rest alongside her parents in the Hezekiah Magee Cemetery, following a family graveside service on Thursday February 7th with Bro. Ed Penton officiating.
