Obituary

Ronald Frank Welsh
August 3, 1957 - November 12, 2019

Ronald Frank Welsh, age 62 and affectionately known as Poppy to his daughter and grandchildren, passed away peacefully at his home in Pine sitting in his recliner on the evening of November 12, 2019. Ronnie was LARGER than life. He was a man of great physical stature, but even bigger than that was his heart. He was very devoted to his family and never happier than when he found out he was a father and grandfather. He took care of his father Maurice Welsh in his final years. He spent countless hours driving his father around because that’s what he enjoyed. He also took care of his mother Yvonne Bott after her stroke until her passing. Ronnie was a longtime member of Faith Tabernacle Apostolic Church and was also a beloved teacher at Faith Tabernacle Academy. He was a compassionate and generous man who never met a stranger. Ronnie had a passion for cooking. He was the designated chopper at holiday gatherings, sitting at the table he would chop all the ingredients for whatever recipe was being prepared. Ronnie was also the designated taster.

Survived by: Daughter and Son in law: Valerie Renee LeBlanc and David LeBlanc; 3 Grandchildren, whom he loved so dearly: Kaylee, Emilee and D.J.; 4 Brothers and Sisters in law: Maurice and Tammy Welsh, Reggie and Amy Welsh, Mark Bott and fiancé Melissa, Ray II and Wendy Bott; Sister and Brother in law: Janet Welsh Bistes and Joseph Bistes; Nephew: Greg Burton; 2 Nieces and a Spouse: Nikki Welsh, Callie Welsh Anderson and Chase Anderson; Best Friend: Ward Burton; Also numerous other family members, friends and his entire church family.

He was preceded in death by his brother Gregory Frank Welsh, father Maurice Frank Welsh, mother and step-father Yvonne Cox Bott and Ray Bott.

Visitation will be at Faith Tabernacle Church Saturday November 16th from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held in the church at 4:00 pm Saturday with Rev. Jeff Dykes officiating.
