Mona Matherne Boquet
December 3, 1924 - October 29, 2019



Mona Matherne Boquet, age 94 and a resident of the Stony Point Community, died Tuesday night October 29, 2019 at North Oaks Medical Center. She was a native of Houma and a former longtime resident of Harvey, LA that had lived in Washington Parish for well over 40 years. Mona was a member of Fisher United Methodist Church who loved singing her favorite gospel hymns just about everywhere she went. She enjoyed tending to her roses and vegetable gardening where she grew tomatoes as well as anyone possibly could. Mona liked quilting and traveling earlier in life and she loved spending time with her family and grandchildren.

Survived by: Son and Daughter in law: Harry J. Boquet, Jr. and Wanda Boquet of Franklinton; Daughter and Son in law: Cheryl and Brad Westmoreland of Franklinton; 4 Grandchildren and Spouses: Jennifer Boquet and Miguel Medina of Metairie, Travis and Allie Boquet, Justin and Tiffany Magee, Lauren and Nathan Richterberg all of Franklinton; 4 Great-grandchildren: Lucas Boquet, Norah Richterberg, Marcus Richterberg, Ella Boquet; Also an expected great-grandson in March; Sister: Thelma Matherne; Brother in law: Henry Brownlee; Sister in law: Nobby Babin Matherne; Also numerous nieces and nephews

She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years Harry J. Boquet, Sr., parents Loveless John Matherne and Beulah Savoie Matherne, sisters Elaine Matherne, Tessa Brownlee, sister and brother in law Isabelle and Julius Hebert, brothers Steven Matherne, John Matherne, brother and sister in law Whitney and Nell Matherne, brother in law Roland Trahan.

Visitation will be at Fisher Methodist Church (41607 Hwy 1056, Franklinton) on Saturday November 2nd from 9:00 am until 11:00 am. A funeral service will be held in the church at 11:00 am Saturday with Rev. Ray Varnado and Rev. John Chetta officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
