Beware: Amite Livestock Auction's Email Compromised

The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office advises that Amite Livestock Sales Auction Barn reported
last week that fraudsters have compromised the company’s email account and are sending emails out to customers soliciting financial information to include bank account and routing numbers. This is SCAM or a scheme referred to as “spear phishing”.

TPSO Financial Crimes Detective Michael D’Amato is asking anyone who may receive one of these emails to disregard and delete them. Do not send any personal or financial information out via an email sent by the Amite Livestock Sales Auction Barn's email service.

If anyone has sent their financial information, they are urged to contact their financial institutions right away and contact the TPSO at 985.345.6150 to file a report.
