Washington Parish Burglary Items Found in Walthall County

On September 6, 2019, the Walthall County Sheriff's Office Investigations Division received information from the Washington Parish Sheriff's Office Investigations Division that some stolen property had been sold to an individual in Walthall County, MS. Later that morning a search warrant was executed at 10 Houston Graves Rd., Tylertown, MS in Walthall County, MS.

WCSO Investigators along with Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics agents discovered a Miller welder, a commercial fan and a Springfield .22 rifle that had been taken in Washington Parish. Also, officers found five (5) long guns that had been taken in a residential burglary in Lincoln County, MS, THC Oil, and individually wrapped bags of marijuana.

Tanner Hughes (24) was arrested for Possession of Stolen Property, Trafficking in Stolen Firearms, and Possession with the Intent to Distribute Controlled Substances (x2). Hughes was currently out on bond with the WCSO for Burglary of a Dwelling, Conspiracy to Commit Burglary of a Dwelling, and Possession of Stolen Firearms.

Walthall County Sheriff Breland expressed his thanks to the Washington Parish Sheriff's Office, the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics and investigators with the Walthall County Sheriff's Office. Sheriff Breland would also like to remind the public that it is a crime to purchase stolen property and anytime someone suspects that property is stolen to call the WCSO at 601-876-3481.

All individuals are innocent until proven guilty in a Court of Law.
