Debra McElveen Sharp, age 64 and a resident of the Lee Road Community, died Thursday morning August 1, 2019 at St. Tammany Parish Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. She was retired after a career as a supervisor with the Louisiana Worker’s Comp Corporation. Debbie loved arts and crafts and enjoyed visiting the craft booths at the Fair each year. She had a special place in her heart for her pet dogs. Debbie loved being married later in life and cherished the time spent with her husband and family.
Survived by: Husband: Larry Sharp of Lee Road; 2 Step-sons and Daughters in law: Larry Sharp, Jr. and Karen Sharp of Bogalusa, Jeremy and Heather Sharp of the Richardson Community; Step-daughter: Lori Sharp of Enon; Mother: Murlie Stevens McElveen of Franklinton; Sister: Sheryl Lee of Texas; Also numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father Bobby McElveen and sister Terri Parsons.
Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home Sunday August 4th from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 2:00 pm Sunday with Rev. Mike Stafford officiating. Burial will follow in the Sharp’s Chapel Church of God Cemetery in the Lee Road Community.
