Troopers Investigate Fatal Head-On Crash in St. Helena

Sunday morning (June 2, 2019) Troopers from Louisiana State Police Troop L responded to a fatal
crash on LA 16 near Calmes Road in St. Helena Parish. The crash has claimed the life of 38-year-old Ronald Lee Davis of Greensburg.

The initial investigation led Troopers to determine that the crash occurred when Davis' vehicle crossed into the opposing lane and crashed head-on into a vehicle driven by 35-year-old John Ray Daniels of Denham Springs.

Davis sustained fatal injuries in the crash. He was pronounced deceased on-scene by the St. Helena Parish Coroner’s Office. Davis’ wife, 38-year-old Pamela Topps of Greensburg, was a front seat passenger in his vehicle. She sustained moderate injuries in the crash and was transported to Our Lady of The Lake Hospital by Acadian Ambulance. Daniels sustained serious injuries in the crash and was also transported to Our Lady of The Lake Hospital via Acadian Air Med. None of the occupants in either vehicle were restrained at the time of the crash.
