Washington Parish Art Association Show and Sale

Over 20 local artists will have their work on display when the Washington Art Association has its
annual show and sale event on Sunday afternoon, March 24, 2019, from 2 to 5. The event will be at the same location as in the past several years. The large, beautiful home of artist Sara Bateman Nelson, located at the intersection of Louisiana Highways 25 and 38 at Clifton, is about 5 ½ miles north of Franklinton. The address and entrance is 28035 Winfred Bateman Road. There is plenty of parking space. There will be a big sign announcing the show in the yard.

A lot of art work will be for sale as artist have been working for the past year to produce new works. It will be a social/cultural occasion for everyone to view the art, visit, and enjoy the afternoon.

There is no charge for the event. On display will be oils, watercolors, art prints, wood art, and various other media. Artists range from professional to hobbyists to those just beginning their adventure with painting. All are members of the Washington Art Association, an organization in existence since spring of 1976.

“The show has been a beautiful presentation every year. It makes me proud of the community and talent here,” said Ann Warner, co-chair of the show with Sara Nelson and Anne Crawford. “This is our big event of the year. We are looking forward to seeing you. This is the opportunity for many artists to show a body of work. You can have beautiful fine art for your home at reasonable prices. Buy work that keeps its value. However, sales are not our only purpose. We want to showcase art in our area.”
