Madisonville Suspect Dies in Attempted Robbery

The St. Charles Parish Sheriff has identified Mark Fisher, Jr. (36) of Madisonville as the suspect in
the Monday (January 21, 2019) armed robbery of the Thrift Village Drug Store in Luling. Fisher was shot by the store's pharmacist and died.

The investigation reportedly revealed that Fisher entered the pharmacy clad in black clothing, wearing a face mask and gloves, and armed with a handgun. Fisher reportedly ordered the store’s pharmacist and a clerk to go behind the store counter and began demanding drugs. The suspect then produced a zip-tie and strapped the clerk’s hands together. Before the suspect was able to zip-tie the pharmacist, the pharmacist retrieved his handgun, a scuffle ensued, and the suspect fled towards the front door. The suspect then turned around, charged toward the pharmacist, and the pharmacist fired one shot striking the suspect in the right leg. The suspect fled about 100 yards and collapsed. An autopsy showed that the suspect was shot one time, striking the femoral artery.

No charged are expected to be filed against the pharmacist.
