Jessie Lee Hendericks Blackburn was born January 20, 1924 to the Late Mr. J.W. Hendericks and Mrs. Rosie Bell Daniels Hendericks. She departed this earthly life and transitioned to have her period of eternal rest at the age of 94, at her residence on December 6, 2018. Jessie was a long-time resident of Bogalusa, LA and a faithful member of Bethlehem Baptist Church until her health failed her.
She leaves to cherish her memories; Rosie Johnson of Bogalusa, LA, Marie B. (Alvin) Archie of Slidell, LA, Nelda (Williams) Mathis of Dallas, TX; one son, Warren Blackburn of Bogalusa, LA; a special cousin, like a sister, Rosie L. Bristen Hall of Slidell, LA; cousin, Chalmbers (Lola) Brumfield of Folsom, LA; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her spouse, Emery Blackburn; daughters, Lillie and Emily Blackburn; sons, Emery Jr., Kermit, and Rogers, Sr. Blackburn; her mother, Rosie Bell Brown; her father, J. W. Hendericks; her grandson, Donald R. Brown, Jr.; son-in-law, Glenn Johnson; daughter-in-law, Geraldine Washington Blackburn; and her brother-in-law, Dewey Blackburn.
Visitation will be Saturday, December 15, 2018 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Bogalusa, Louisiana where the Funeral Service will follow at 3:00 PM.
