Donald Ray Brown, Jr. affectionately known as “DJ” was born on April 29, 1980 in Baltimore, Maryland to Donald Ray Brown, Sr. and Emily Blackburn (Brown). He departed this earthly world on Sunday Morning, November 25, 2018 in Dallas, TX.
DJ graduated from Bogalusa High School in 1999 and from Grambling State University in 2004.
DJ was baptized at an early age at Bethlehem Baptist Church.
DJ leaves to cherish his memories, his father, Donald Ray Brown, Sr.; brothers, Jarvis (Shelia) Blackburn of Cedar Hill, TX, Cedric Blackburn of Dallas, TX, Anthony Watterson Brown, and David (Shonda) Watterson Brown both of Houston, TX; grandmother, Jessie Hendricks Blackburn of Bogalusa, LA; aunts, Jennifer Brown Guillory of Baton Rouge, LA, Rosie Johnson of Bogalusa, LA, Marie B. (Alvin) Archie of Slidell, LA, Nelda Faye (William) Mathis of Dallas, TX; uncles, Edward Charles Brown of Houston, TX, Douglas Brown of Allen, TX, Carl Brown, Jr. and Reginald Brown of Baton Rouge, LA and Warren Blackburn of Bogalusa, LA and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother: Emily Blackburn, maternal grandfather: Emery Blackburn; paternal grandparents: Carl and Naomi Brown; aunt: Lillie Mae Blackburn; uncles: Rodgers, Emery, Jr. and Kermit Blackburn; maternal grandmother: Rosie “Rosa” Bell Brown and paternal grandparents: Thomas Harvey and Zena Jefferson.
Funeral service will be Sunday, December 2, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Bethlehem Baptist Church with Rev. Christopher Matthews ~ Pastor Officiating.
Crain and Sons Funeral Home – Bogalusa are in charge of arrangements.
