STPSO: Pursuit Ends With 17 Year-Old Shot – 3 Arrested

While investigating recent vehicle burglaries and auto thefts in Slidell yesterday (September 12, 2018), officers with the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office ran a license plate on a suspicious vehicle on Moonraker Drive and learned it had been stolen out of New Orleans.

Officers attempted a traffic stop but the vehicle fled and, in the ensuing pursuit, several units were damaged. The pursuit ended when the suspect vehicle accelerated toward a deputy and the deputy fired his service weapon and struck the passenger, Kendrick Neveaux (17) of New Orleans.

A firearm, equipped with a laser sight, was located inside the vehicle. The driver and a second passenger, both juveniles, were also taken into custody. Criminal charges will be forthcoming as the investigation is active and ongoing,
