Vergie Nell Jenkins Thomas, age 83, was born December 4, 1934 and died Monday morning August 13, 2018 at her daughter’s home. She was a prior resident of Holden and a former longtime resident of Washington Parish. Vergie was a seamstress for over 25 years.
Survived by: Husband: Ellis B. Thomas of Holden; Son: Robert Steven Whitney of Graysville, TN.; Daughter: Deborah Whitney of Angie; 3 Grandchildren: Autumn Collett, Brooke Thomas, Lane Whitney; 2 Sisters: Lillie Breville of Lafayette, Carrie Dinkle of Grants Pass, OR.; Also numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her son Donald Wayne Whitney and parents Rufus Jenkins and Joyce Williams Jenkins
Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home Wednesday August 15th from 10 am until 2 pm. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 2 pm Wednesday with Eld. Adam Luper officiating. Burial will follow in the Jones Cemetery.
