Covington Men Arrested in Lacombe Drive by Shooting

STPSO Detectives have arrested three Covington men in connection with a drive-by shooting that took place in Lacombe, La on Monday, July 16, 2018. Shots were fired toward  and struck a residence occupied at the time by two adults and three children. No one was injured.

A grey Hyundai Sonata with dark tinted windows was determined to be a suspect vehicle and the victims provided a suspect with whom they had a contentious history. An alert citizen provided information that led to the location and seizure of the suspect vehicle on Monday (July 23, 2018) in Covington. A search warrant was obtained and evidence related to the shooting was located within the vehicle.

The investigation revealed that Jaydon Carter used the vehicle on the evening of the shooting. On Tuesday (July 24, 2018), Detectives located Carter in the driveway of a residence in Covington and in the company of several other people. Further investigation determined that Jaydon Carter (17) was the driver of the vehicle used in the Lacombe shooting incident while Johnterrius McDowell (18) and Avery Fabre (18) were passengers. Investigators have determined that Fabre was the shooter. All three subjects were taken into custody without incident and booked into the St. Tammany Parish Jail on various charges:
