Shooting Victim in Bogalusa Drives Self to Hospital and Dies

Saturday night (March 31, 2018), Bogalusa Police Department Officers responded to a call that a vehicle that had crashed into the east entrance of the Our Lady of Angels Hospital.
Hospital staff and security observed a male driver still inside the vehicle bleeding from injuries that needed medical assistance. Hospital staff took the victim into the emergency room to start treatment and  discovered that the victim had been shot multiple times. BPD Officers were advised by a Security Officer that initially the victim was responsive and able to speak but had become unresponsive.
The victim, identified as Gary Bridges (27), succumbed to his injuries.  It was determined that Bridges was shot multiple times at the corner of Hickory Avenue and Warren Street.
The case has been turned over to the BPD Detective Division which is currently conducting an investigation. Anyone with information concerning the murder of Gary Bridges is urged to call the BPD Detective Division at 985-732-6238.
