Sylvia Ann Altgilbers
April 5, 1950 - March 6, 2018



SYLVIA ANN ALTGILBERS, AGE 67 and a resident of Franklinton, Louisiana died Tuesday evening March 6, 2018 at St. Tammany Parish Hospital. She was born April 5, 1950 in Graves County, Kentucky and had been a resident of Washington Parish for the last 20 years. Sylvia was a member of Bonner Creek Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening and cooking for her family and was known for having a great sense of humor. Sylvia loved being a Mom and her entire life revolved around caring for the needs of her children and grandchildren. She was also “Mamie” to many other young people as well, because she always had a kind heart to everyone she met. Sylvia had a special place in her heart for her pet Chihuahua Tiny.
Survived by: Son: Paul Crider of Franklinton; Daughter: Yolanda Glockner of Franklinton; 6 Grandchildren: Stephen Adams, Matthew Adams, Patrick Adams, Alicia Pekins, Joshua Glockner, Emily Ann Glockner; 2 Great-grandchildren: Ezra and Serenity; Brother: Richard Allen Purcell of Fulton, Kentucky; Special Nephew: Richie Purcell; Former Sister in law: Ladon Cairns
She was preceded in death by husbands Hubert Paul Crider, Jr. and Bill “Gator” Altgilbers, father Ernest Lee Murrell, mother and step-father Chrystell Watts Murrell Purcell and Ted Purcell, and sisters Mary Lee Swift, Beverly Myers
Visitation will be at Bonner Creek Baptist Church (43075 Bonner Creek Road, Franklinton, LA 70438) on Saturday March 17th from 11 am until 1 pm. A memorial service will be held in the church at 1 pm with Rev. David Tassin officiating. She will be laid to rest alongside family at the Camp Beauregard Cemetery in Water Valley, Kentucky at a later date.
