Bogalusan Accused of Theft from an Incapacitated Woman

The Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office arrested Cynthia Watson (43) of Bogalusa on March 12, 2018 on the charges of simple robbery, theft and three counts of unauthorized use of a debit card.
On March 4, 2018, when a driver with a medical condition stopped at a business on Highway 21 near Bogalusa, surveillance video from the business reportedly showed Watson stop her vehicle. But instead of checking on the driver, Watson took the victim's cash and debit cards from her purse and looked inside the trunk of the victim’s vehicle.
Watson then allegedly went to Wal Mart in Covington and made purchases with the stolen debit cards. She returned to Bogalusa, went to the local Wal Mart, and returned the purchases to obtain a refund.
The crime was investigated by Detective Demmie Rice. Sheriff Randy Seal commented. “Great job, Detective Rice. Watson’s selfishness landed her in jail and now she must deal with the judicial system. It is so gratifying to me as your Sheriff to see positive results from the hard work done by our officers.”
